Tickets and Information

In light of the rapidly changing coronavirus situation, EDIC will no longer be taking place in person in Glasgow and instead Beat will host the conference virtually. The conference will still take place on Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th March 2022 as planned, but will be held virtually.

We have been monitoring the development of the new COVID 19 variant closely and adhering to government advice and while we have been making every possible adjustment to ensure we could continue with the event, we must put the health and safety of our attendees first and not put any further strain on the medical profession at this unprecedented time.

It is not a decision we have taken lightly and it will impact Beat as well as those planning to attend the conference. We understand you will have questions about this decision and we ask for your understanding here; our conference team will now have a great deal of work to do following this decision. We will be sending a further communication shortly, and we hope you will bear with us until then, while we take the necessary logistical steps, and while we communicate this news to all affected.

If you have already purchases a ticket to 2022 conference, or have had your place transferred from 2020 please do not worry. The team will be in touch to discuss your conference booking.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email the team on edic@beateatingdisorders.org.uk

Disclaimer

All best endeavours will be made to present the programme as printed. However, the conference organisers (Beat) and the Scientific Programme Committee reserve the right to alter or cancel, without prior notice, any arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating directly or indirectly to the EDIC 2022 Conference, for any cause beyond its reasonable control. The EDIC 2022 organisers and the Scientific Programme Committee are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alteration.

The conference programme relies on delegates having an academic understanding in the field of eating disorders and whilst elements of the conference may be of interest to those outside of the academic field, due to the programme content, design and the nature of the research and debates being presented, the conference content may not be suitable for someone currently suffering and could be significantly triggering for some.

In the event of cancellation of EDIC 2022 all pre-paid fees will be refunded in full. However, the organisers and the Scientific Programme Committee are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such cancellation and the liability of the organisers shall be limited to the conference fee. Delegates are advised to take out their own travel insurance and to extend their policy to cover personal possessions as the conference does not cover individuals against cancellation of bookings or theft or damage to belongings.

Cancellation Policy

A refund of fees will be given less a 20% administration charge, provided that the Conference Administrative Secretariat receives notice of cancellation in writing to edic@beateatingdisorders.org.uk on or 8th March 2022. After this date, no refunds will be given. Refunds will not be given for no-shows at the conference. Discounts applied to attend multiple conferences organised by Beat, in the event of cancellation will be void and adjusted taking into account the final conference fee paid.
